(Name) stumbled towards front door, the weight of her Hungarian friend hanging on her shoulder retarding her steps. She grunted when she pushed his arm off her to pick up the key inside her purse, causing him to fall on the floor with a loud ‘thump’. She felt sad for his injured head just for a few seconds, but then went back to unlocking her door.
She placed her hands under his arms and grasped his shoulders, grunting at every step. She pushed open her door with a soft kick of her feet and kept on going with her attempt of pulling Daniel inside her dark apartment. She let go of him once he was in the middle of the hall and closed the door, sighing in relief. She rested her back on the wooden surface and slid, sitting tiredly on the floor with her legs spread.
She got the force to get up and turned on the light, then glancing at the drunken man on her floor. It was kind of her fault he was like this. She wanted to invite her brother Gilbert to drink with her, since she obviously knew about his fetish for alcohol. But apparently he was busy with his friends Francis and Antonio, and since she didn’t want to spend her Saturday night by herself, she called Daniel.
She didn’t know him that much; she met him at one of Francis’ parties. But he was really nice to hang out with, and considering she wanted to have a friendship with the guy, she saw no problem at inviting him at the bar. Apparently, she made him drink too much. I was fun at first; he was starting to slur, and getting really random. Then, came the love part of being drunk, so he tried to flirt with her a lot. Then came the fighting part. He tried to pick up a fight with the barman, who was much stronger and bigger than him. Thank God he had a nice humor and understood her friend’s situation.
She got tired of him doing a mess at her favorite bar, so she brought him to her apartment. But he passed out suddenly, so she had to carry him all the time. For a guy that looks fit, he really is heavy. She grasped his hands and pulled him inside the living room, thinking of a way to lay him down on the couch.
After grasping his shirt and several tries of pulling him upwards on the couch, he finally rested properly. His parted plump lips let short breaths escape his body, his mesmerizing cerulean eyes closed. She sighed contently and sat next to where he was sleeping. She hesitated slightly before shaking him gently; she didn’t really like the idea of waking a drunk man up.
“Uhm… Daniel?” She whispered. He groaned and moved, resting on his side.
“Five more minutes…”
She shook him up more violently. “Daniel!” She said, this time a more powerful voice tone. He snapped his eyes open and jumped, moving to a sitting position. He shook him head a few times, before scanning the room to then look at her with hazy eyes. Was he still drunk?
“Hey… hey, who are you?” He tilted his head and poked her cheek, his green eyes half-lidded.
Yes he was.
“It’s me, (Name).” She spoke calmly with a soft smile spreading across her features. His confused pout became a psychotic huge grin, eyes widening. He grasped both her hands and trapped them between his, leaning her in.
“(Name)!” Came her name in a slurred voice from his mouth. She smiled nervously and made force to pull her hands away from his, retreating back. He didn’t seem to care, he just kept on smiling. “How are you in this wonderful night?”
The accent in his words became even more noticeable with the effects of the alcohol, especially in the world ‘wonderful’, becoming something like ‘vvvvonderfulh’. She chuckled to herself.
“Speaking about nights, do you remember that time Francis met a girl at the beach, and when he leaded her to his room and took her dress off, she had a dick?” He laughed hysterically at his own comment, clutching his stomach desperately. She furrowed her brows in confusion, slightly creeped out. First, what does this have to do with ‘night’, again?
“Uh… no.” But she couldn’t deny she wasn’t interested in the curious story. And then, suddenly, a light bulb lighted on inside her head and a Chesire Cat grin spread on her lips. So this was the phase he was on: the truth telling. Interesting. She closed her eyes gently and glanced back at the Hungarian with a fake smile dripping sweetness and her hands clasped together. She leaned in slightly and whispered.
“That’s such an interesting fact, wow! Do you have… any other cool things to tell me, Daniel?”
He grinned innocently, not understanding at all what was happening. He nodded eagerly, grasping her hands in the same way before. Not that minded this time, thought; she was too busy thinking about all the ways she would blackmail them later.
“Like that time when Antonio thought I was a girl when we met and he took me to a bedroom.” She held a laugh, throwing her hand over her mouth to then turn in into a fist and cough awkwardly in it.”Oh, Oh! Or when Arthur tried to grow his hair like Francis’, but ended up looking like a lion’s fur!”
Ok, she couldn’t help herself on that one.
‘Please,’ she begged in her mind ‘please, tell me he has pictures…”
“I even have pictures!” She smiled demonically one more time.
“Oh, this one’s about Ivan! Did you know he got rejected by a hamster once?” You giggled, deep inside, feeling a bit bad for the Russian male. But, let’s be honest; she didn’t really care, she will have fun rubbing all this on their faces later.
Okay, maybe not Ivan’s thought.
She laughed once again, glancing at the male from the corners of her eyes. He smiled amusedly at the sight of the girl having so much fun right in from of him.
“Did Lovino actually do that?!” She breathed out between her desperate laughs. He nodded, laughing as well. She sat properly, clearing her throat and wiping a tear that escaped from her eye.
“Yep! I think he still has a small scar on his tight.” He chuckled. She threw an arm over her friend’s shoulders, pulling his upper part closer for a moment as she chuckled. “I really do need those pictures.”
He nodded. Then, his head suddenly jerked up when a thought ran through his mind. She noticed his action and grasped his closer arm, leaning closer in curiosity. She smirked. “Oh, Ooh! Tell me, tell me! Is it embarrassing?!”
He laughed. “Yes, it really embarrassing. At least for him it is.” She giggled and kept on listening.
“He really, really wants to kiss you.”
Her eyes got bigger for a second. She didn’t say anything for a few moments, but then nodded in understanding.
“Daniel.” He said, grinning like an idiot. He obviously didn’t understand the fact he just confessed he wants to kiss someone right in front of them. Okay, it wasn’t such a big deal! But it sure was a surprise for her.
“… Oh.” He nodded happily.
“Yep! He would be very embarrassed if you find out, so don’t tell him I told you, okay?” She nodded slowly, furrowing her brows in confusion. He apparently didn’t realize he himself told her what he didn’t want her to find out.
“And… why does he want to kiss me?” She asked slowly. He bit the inside of his cheek in thought, looking up at the ceiling. He then looked back down at her again, a silly, goofy smile on his handsome features.
“Because he really likes you, silly! I mean, he doesn’t love you, he doesn’t know you that much yet. But he can obviously tell he feels some kind of attraction towards you.” She couldn’t believe her ears. Okay, she never thought of the man that way, but right now, in this position, she realized the idea didn’t sound that bad.
But she began to wonder, was he still drunk? He could speak properly, his words weren’t as slurred anymore. No, she saw him drinking all that in just a few hours, there’s no way in hell he could pretend all this. If anything, maybe tomorrow morning he wakes up thinking properly. But right now, no. Also, Daniel has his dignity. He wouldn’t tell her all this if he actually understood what he was saying.
“Oh, Daniel.” She giggled, throwing her arm over his shoulder once again and pressing a soft kiss to his cheek. He smiled and looked at her, blinking a few times. He inhaled softly and leaned in slowly.
She was surprised, but it wasn’t like she would stop him anyway. She moved her hand to the back of his neck and pressed their lips together a few seconds faster. He moved his hands to her arm rubbing it caringly. She parted their mouths but stayed closer, both their hands still on the same position. It was such a short kiss, but she really did like it.
And it was proper for their first - and hopefully not last – kiss.
She smiled, to then giggle happily. It was such a cliché moment, but she really liked the idea of staying like this.
“Hey…” She began, “Do me a favor, and tell Daniel that he shouldn’t be embarrassed?”
He chuckled. “I certainly will.”
